My Approach

ESG Focused Coaching and OD -

soar past your goals

1:1 & Team Coaching

What are your goals? Let's develop an in-depth understanding of you, as you come to your role - what do you need to achieve your goals? Does your purpose and do your values align with those of your organisation, or those of your team/division?

I've been consulting for 10+ years and I love what I do - I'm passionate about supporting clients on their road to success, and watching them soar.

 Networks

If you work within complex organisations and environments, your, and your team's sphere of influence isn't always clear.

Working in ESG, your territory is wide - working both within and outside the organisational structure.

I reveal hidden potential through examining how you relate to your role and your wider network - what potential are you not seeing?
We work together to lever that potential and create real change.

 Toolkit

To illuminate your unique talents, we can assess your personality type, and hidden leadership style. I hold a Master's Degree in leadership in organisational systems, and hold Advanced Coach accreditation.

I work to understand complexity, and resistances to change and leadership.  My toolkit helps shine a light on your future direction. I support you as we pursue your goals, alongside those of your division.

2023's Leadership Signposts

For many leaders, what work looks like and what we expect from leadership post pandemic - what the future is starting to look like - is very pertinent.

What we now expect from work now is a whole conversation that is developing, and there are conversations that need to be had, which can be supported and facilitated by coaching and consultancy.

The pandemic hasn't quite 'been and gone'; it is a challenge to know how to really deal with what we're dealing with. Most organisations have undertaken their version of hybrid 1.0 but how do we take stock of how it's gone, and really make it work? There are many ongoing issues and conversations needed, and I am here to help you find the way forward.

Coaching has focused on areas such as, preparing for promotion opportunities, and then excelling in the new role, developing leadership skills and getting the best from the team, improving confidence, managing stress, enhancing impact and personal effectiveness and dealing with specific interpersonal challenges.

I have also coached many teams to clarify their vision and purpose, enhance their effectiveness and to develop more effective working relationships with each other and with their key stakeholders.

A little bit more about me...

My values

In my work I'm drawn to explore psychological safety, and how this connects to purpose and potential. Without this grounding, it's impossible to soar. I'm a consultant that undertakes supervision, so that if anything particularly challenging comes up, I'm aware of it and get it resolved. This sense of 'clean pair of hands' is framed, in part, by my clinical work in private practice as a CBT Psychotherapist.

As an Industrial Design student, I joined the Erasmus exchange programme. I lived in Berlin, and a teutonic sense of efficiency and environmental stewardship sat very well with me - environmental sustainability is a key personal value. Working for Northern Trust, a Chicago-headquartered bank, I held global responsibility for ESG-related sustainability reporting, and EMEA responsibility for ESG reporting and employee engagement and diversity initiatives, and I was an active member of the bank's LGBTQIA+ network.

Among other volunteer roles, I have held Trustee roles for Hackney City Farm, The Corporation of the City of London's Environmental Committee, CoMo UK, and have been a Chair of School Governors (2015-22); social mobility and clean air are very important personal values for me. Read more about our research into changing values during lockdown in our Blog section.

I'm a keen cyclist and freshwater swimmer and take part in the Swimathon every year, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

I'm working towards my pilot's licence - I carbon offset my flights! You can see why soaring beyond what you thought possible, and achieve everything that's within you / your teams' possibilities, is the value I most bring to my coaching and consultancy.

My foundations

I am from the South East of Ireland, and born into a home where farming and hunting merged into some record-breaking achievements. My dad was an award-winning marksman and fisherman. He also had a deep spirituality, something that connected him to my mum. Mum worked as a clinician, and had a passion for art and crafts. That sense of foundation/grounding being anchored in precision, and spurred on though creativity and personal transformation, gave me a sense of achieving my capability from an early age.

I had a stammer as a child, and it took me a lot of time to learn to breathe, to be kind to myself, and take my time - a practice which I still value very much today. My early struggles my stammer meant that I didn't pick up the Irish language.

I was a keen linguist but it took me until secondary school, when I had largely overcome my stammer, to learn to love languages again, and I am much indebted to my very patient French teacher, who gave me confidence to speak in another language... happily, I went on to learn Italian and German. I loved to draw and also I was drawn to maths and psychology. I was crazy about cars and motorbikes... my friend's dad in school got an electric car from the US in the early '80s, and I've grown up loving electronics and efficiency.

Trophies came from art and physics, and I look back very fondly to key teachers and professors who nurtured my talents - and who created safe spaces for me to explore my abilities; they inspire my approach to coaching and organisational consultancy.

I've worked in many ESG and sustainability settings, and I know the power of leadership and purpose, and also how difficult it can be to work in the wide area of governance, and the challenges of implementing change and reflective practices whilst working within complex / multinational structures.
